Jose Luis Sampedro receive tomorrow the Menendez Pelayo International Prize XXIV.
Jose Luis Sampedro The Academy will receive tomorrow, Thursday, XXIV Menendez Pelayo International Award in recognition of his "multiple contributions to human thought" from its facets as an economist, writer and teacher. The event was held in the auditorium of La Magdalena, from 12.00.

In previous editions, the Menendez Pelayo International Award went to the Mexican poet and Nobel Prize for Literature, Octavio Paz (1987), the anthropologist, historian, essayist and Spanish linguists, Julio Caro Baroja (1989), the Mexican writer Carlos Fuentes (1992 ), the linguistic and former director of the Royal Spanish Academy, Fernando Lazaro Carreter (1994), the Peruvian writer Principe de Asturias Prize for Literature, Mario Vargas Llosa (1999) and the Uruguayan writer and poet Mario Benedetti (2005) among others.
